Examples of Robotic / Cobots Applications

Among the wide range of tasks that can be automated using robotic cells, the following are common applications undertaken by CXV Global:

Machine Tending

Cobots remove the need for many workers to be occupied tending to CNC machines, feeding and removing parts as they are machined. The cobot can open and close the machine door, pick and place parts before and after they are machined, and even start the machining process by pushing a button!

Palletizing

Patterns for placement of boxes onto pallets are easily programmable using the palletizing wizard in the Universal Robots cobot software.

Box Erection

Taking flat boxes off a stack and erecting them into a useable format as outer shipper cases is a repetitive and time-consuming action in industry to which cobots are ideally suited.

Functional Testing

Many manufacturing/assembly processes require every single part to be functionally tested as a final QC check. Cobots perform this repetitive task very well, particularly with the addition of a force-torque sensor to control precision twisting or click-closure actions.

Bin Picking

Using Photoneo’s 3D scanning cameras, we can identify individual parts piled in random orientations and guide a cobot to bin-pick for feeding of conveyors or machines.

Robotic Integration with Machine Vision

Where robotic/cobot applications require machine vision guidance, verification, or inspection, CXV Global are your ideal systems integration partner. We are experts in machine vision with over 30 years’ experience in Life Sciences and High-End manufacturing and packaging as a Cognex Platinum Partner System Integrator. We combine this with our robotics and Universal Robots cobot integration capabilities to deliver turnkey solutions for handling and inspection, wrapped up in compliant documentation and procedures for Life Sciences applications. We are a single source engineering partner to deliver validated solutions to increase your operational efficiency.

Pick and Place

Logistics 4.0 and Industry 4.0 are rapidly expanding and companies with fast paced production in industries as diverse as the food, automotive and life-sciences sectors, are turning to robotics to speed up pick and place, ramp up their productivity and reduce errors. Companies that rely on cobots to perform these tasks are the ones that truly make the difference. This is because, in this case, the robots carry out the hardest job and do so more effectively. CXV Global has developed comprehensive and easy to use pick and place solutions that accomplishes faster and more efficient product transfer, shortens down times and brings errors down to practically zero.

Why Robotics For My Manufacturing Operations?

  • Improves operational efficiency: Providing greater speed, consistency, and reduced costs.
  • Collaborative: Operator can work side-by-side with robotics without guarding.
  • Lower price point and lower integration cost: Providing a faster return on investment
  • Complement your workforce: Robots can complement your workforce by performing repetitive tasks while allowing workers to focus on other areas that require creativity and competitive thinking.
  • 24/7 operation: Can operate without interruption if needed which gives manufacturers the ability to keep up with high demands.
  • Reduction of health hazards:  Fewer accidents thanks to a reduction of manual intervention.
  • Flexible: Manufacturers can reprogram and repurpose a robot for another role.
